Due to city ordinance (Norridge IL) I have to get rid of my bees. We in Norridge may keep only cats and dogs.
Several years of my bee keeping activities lead me to situation that I have some bees, hives, tools, equipment. I didn't sell anything so there is some accumulation. These have got useless because the only way to engage in beekeeping for me is on my backyard.
To sell these things is not hurry but bees in hives have to go this week. (Deadline is May 3, 09). Not a big deal but it has some value.
All hives are kanyans. (Kenyan Top Bar Hives)
All haves have to be picked up from Norridge IL.
HIVES (Individual prices and more details below)
All hives is a combination wood, Styrofoam and plywood. Some are with bees which survived winter and these have to go the first because of deadline May 2, 09. All are more or less ornamental, designed for garden/backyard setting. All are with windows, “V” shaped, except nuks. Covers are flat, very light except one which is heavier. Entrances are in broad wall of hives on one side or on both sides. Bottom of cavity has a gap closed by 2” batten with wire cloth for ventilation. This is removable (sliding) and can be replaced with the same batten without a cloth for winter if someone wants to.
1. 3 hives 4’ x 22”, 40” high. (all dimensions are external)
2. 2 hives very similar but slightly wider, width is 23"
3. One hive, very similar but richest in ornament and 24” wide.

Other 3 hives to sale are very similar in construction but are trapezoidal shape, on stands and smaller. No bottom ventilation. Width is 18”.
One of these hives is very tall 20”, experimentally.
NUCS
All are trapezoidal shape.
4 nukes, width 22”, without windows, accommodating 4+ top bars. Styrofoam, bottom plywood.
2 nukes, width 22”, with windows, accommodating 10 top bars. Combination of plywood (bottom), styrofoam and wood. Highly ornamental.
2 nukes very similar but smaller, accommodating 7 top bars, without widows. Width 18”. New, never used. I will add picture soon.

Window is dabble glass, flat on both sides. Window cover is very light, with little neodymium magnets. Very easy to take off and put on. In the boots there are 4 stainless screws to screw it more or less for precise leveling and partial protection against ants.
The cover is also very light, 1" Styrofoam as thermal insulation in the kind of stiff shell to partially protect against careless handling and weather deterioration.
Cavity of hive is "V" shape. In the bottom of this cavity is removable batten with wire cloth for ventilation and spring cleaning. This is removable (sliding), see picture above.
