The Glass Works of Sharon Bladholm
For over 20 years, Sharon Bladholm has been producing creative stained glass designs incorporating her unique perspective as a traveler to and observer of indigenous cultures and their natural surroundings, not to mention, contemporary ecological themes.

A skilled artisan, she has long offered her services in producing architectural glass in many styles as well as providing complete restoration services for all manner of antique stained glass.

She has completed a broad range of glass projects, including international commissions, designs for commercial ventures, and autonomous work of art. Her pieces appear in several private collections and many prominent residences.

Sharon has attended several recognized institutions including Pilchuck Glass School and School of the Art Institute, where in recent years she has explored the aesthetic possibilities of glass casting, producing a large body of cast glass sculpture, and mixed media sculpture in combinations of glass, ceramic and bronze.
The Design Process
The design process for a glass project typically involves several steps including visiting the site of the prospective project, discussing design possibilities, and reviewing a portfolio of previous work. This first meeting is the basis for producing idea sketches (aka. 3-4 small scale rough drawings) exploring possible options for the finished work.
The second meeting gives the client an opportunity to review these sketches and chooses one or a combination of elements taken from the three or four possibilities presented. At the third meeting a full scale layout of the exact project is furnished. A non-refundable design fee is charged for the design process (for a single window, this fee is usually $100.00). Upon approval, and a minimum deposit of one-third of the total cost, the actual production begins.
