7/1/00 George and Tami Host on the Holiday Weekend

We got into the holiday spirit with a Fourth-of-July-on-the-First-Party at George and Tami's home in Streamwood. They invited family and friends to an open house and outdoor get-together. The weather, again despite an ominous forecast, turned out to be perfect. George had trimmed the backyard to provide a badminton court and an inventive croquet course. Tami had decorated inside and out with bouquets, streamers, and table covers with a Fourth theme in red, white and blue. It was also an occasion to celebrate their recent marriage. Later in the evening, when the police came by seeking out the nearby firecracker offenders, we truthfully proclaimed our innocence!

       The Food Was Tasty, Plentiful
Scott  Foster, George Jr., Kathy & Jeff Painter, and Mary Stassi partake
of fried chicken, Italian beef sandwiches, and the numerous side dishes.

Children's Games Were Played
George and Tami had thought of the little ones too, providing chalk for driveway
drawing and coloring books and crayons. Getting into the color-by-number activity
are Debbie Bush, Mary Stassi, and Sharon Butt. The headless George Sr., nevertheless,
enjoys one more piece of chicken. Meanwhile Dave Butt, Scott Foster, and Tami chuckle
over the newly completed craft project.

The Very Latest in Fashion
Designed and manufactured on-the-spot by Dave Butt, these
spectacles were the envy and delight of the other guests. The glasses
were created using the plastic tableware (knives and spoons) and the
citronella candle sitting on the table. Model Scott Foster made no
comment on the effectiveness of the exclusive eyewear for vision correction.
